Real projects, real impact
Case studies
Dr. Thomas Macango, Education Innovation Lead & Module Coordinator for the UCD Innovation Academy Innovation for Sustainability module, wanted a way to keep his students engaged, but reduce the admin burden associated with setting up the challenge, communicating it and maintaining oversight on where students are along the way.

We collaboratively designed a customised challenge with Tom where students developed sustainable innovations for key sectors of the Irish economy. The platform seamlessly guided them through five structured stages, allowing Tom to focus on teaching whilst the platform engaged students in their challenge.

- 20% increase in students’ confidence to solve problems.
- Over 80% of students rated the platform as “Very useful” or “Extremely useful” in keeping them engaged throughout.
- Approx. 50 hours saved by the educator.
- On average, students rated the overall experience as 8.5/10

“Once we decided on the challenge topic and content, the Anytime
Creativity platform and team handled everything seamlessly, freeing me to focus on teaching while maintaining oversight on student work throughout the process. It’s a great tool for busy educators.”

“The platform made our sustainability challenge feel exciting and easy to dive into. The breakdown into stages and dynamic tools along the way made it a smooth experience. The engaging, interactive interface
and the creative stage launches added a fun, dynamic element to the
experience too. It almost felt like we were being taken on a magical
mystery tour!”

Dr. Jean Fletcher, Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Teaching & Learning, wanted to engage her class of immunotherapeutics students in a deeper learning experience, where they could foster their creative problem-solving skills and challenge themselves beyond traditional means – something that seemed quite daunting, given her lack of the technical nature of the module and her lack of CBL facilitation experience.

We worked closely with Jean to design a challenge that allowed
students to develop new ideas for the immunotherapeutics community. By using the platform, students were able to engage in collective
critical thinking and creative problem-solving, while staying within the scientific boundaries necessary for the subject.

- 95% of students found the platform ‘Very Useful’ or ‘Extremely Useful’ at deepening their subject matter knowledge
- 100% of students found the platform ‘Very Useful’ or ‘Extremely
Useful’ at supporting effective collaboration - On average, students rated the overall experience as 8.5/10
- 15% increase in students’ confidence to generate creative ideas

“We used Anytime Creativity within our immunotherapeutics class to
challenge students in a way that went beyond traditional methods,
fostering a deeper, more engaged learning experience. The platform
allowed me to seamlessly integrate challenge-based learning into the
module, encouraging collaboration, creative thinking and critical
analysis.”

“It was a fun challenge to do that got us thinking about drug
development in a different way.”
